Self-paced learning is not an option for everyone. However, in a busy workplace self-paced learning can be a viable option for professional development goals.

Working for Logical Operations, I have access to instructor-led training classes as well as our self-paced learning library. I would like to share my experience I had with the self-paced learning library we provide to our own clients (and I use myself): https://logicaloperationstraining.com/self-paced-training-in-upstate-new-york/.

One feature that differentiates our self-paced learning learning from a lot of other ones on today’s market is the inclusion of LIVE webinars delivered by our trainers for popular topics within Microsoft Office and Business Skills. This mix of self-paced content with the ability to still occasionally interact and receive guidance from one of our trainers caters to my everyday activities as a Learning Consultant (it would be very difficult for me to lose a day from the office and devote that day to a training class). Coming up this month, I am excited to attend live workshops (offered through my self-paced learning library) for Time Management and Developing Human Skills to Complement AI at Work. Another topic what struck me is Cybersecurity Briefs: Learn all about HIPAA. This isn’t pertinent to the work I do, but it shows how our self-paced options can even provide training and reinforcement specific to particular job roles and particular industries (in this case, the Medical Industry). Self-paced training of that sort can often be difficult to come by. As part of my subscription if I miss any LIVE workshops, I can still have access to its recording as an On Demand option later. Also, the upcoming workshops are advertised at least 2 weeks in advance, so I can fit them within my calendar.

The best feature though of our self-paced learning is the the content mix itself. Core Microsoft Office apps (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook) and Business Skills topics take up about 30% of the library, and 20% of the library touches on Microsoft 365 tools like SharePoint and PowerApps (so all of the big Microsoft technologies and major soft skills needed within a workplace are covered). My current Microsoft 365 license from Logical Operations does not include some M365 tools (such as Power Apps), but I can still learn about that if I want to use it on my personal computer (or see if I would need an enhanced license for anything I need to do here at work). Without this self-paced learning library, I would never be exposed to something like Microsoft Power Apps (I could never build in time to take a training class focused on Microsoft Power Apps). AI content is slowly being added as we speak, so that is very exciting to look forward to. If I was creative (which I am not!!), there are some Adobe Creative Cloud training modules as well.

Luckily, I don’t have to pay to access this content. But when it comes to pricing, what we offer is extremely cost effective for our clients. For $135 per month, organizations can provide this self-paced subscription to 20 subscribers within their organization (with a 1-year commitment), making this really easy on a company’s training budget.

So my overall assessment on self-paced learning from Logical Operations, is YES – GET THIS if you are a small organization that cannot lose an employee spend a whole day in an instructor-led training. The content and product is an excellent substitute when sending an employee for an instructor-led class is not an option.
